Absolutely amazing experience at HCA Florida Citrus Park Emergency. From the moment we walked in, (my boyfriend was being seen, Dwayne W) but everyone treated us with kindness, compassion and genuine care. Nurse Susan was beyond wonderful…so attentive, caring and comforting during a really difficult time for us. I actually forgot her name after leaving because everything was such a blur, so I called back and even the gentleman who answered the phone was incredibly kind and patient while helping me. That alone says a lot about the people working here. Dr. Mark Ghobrial was also fantastic. He took the time to listen, explain things clearly and made us feel like we truly mattered instead of just being another patient coming through the ER. Our entire care team went above and beyond for us not only medically but personally as well. We are going through some hard times right now and the kindness shown to us honestly brought tears to our eyes. This ER has always been our go-to spot when we need care, and after this visit…it absolutely will continue to be. Thank you to everyone at HCA Florida Citrus Park Emergency for treating people with real compassion and humanity. It truly makes a difference more than you know.

It always pains me to write a bad review - it takes time out of my day, it’s negative energy but, when an issue occurs that seems unacceptable in my years of working with public and as a business owner I feel complied to speak up. The only reason this review is bad is because of one employee in particular - Gerald. I don’t think I’ve ever met a man that was so unnecessarily sassy to someone having a medical emergency. Although not life threatening, the patient was in extreme pain to the point of beginning symptoms of shock and could have permanent damage the more time goes on without treatment. I understand getting admitted and paperwork - but while another nurse was asking pain level the patient responded with 12. And Gerald was quick to snap with attitude, “so you mean a ten” and repeated until the patient answered. I don’t know if this is necessary for the hospital but okay, noted. Then came the blatant discrimination concerning the patients polyamorous relationship status. He asked for clarification on the relationships in a shocked and curious manner while the patient is in extreme pain and distress. Later when asked when the doctor would be back he said in a bit, mind you it’s been about thirty minutes of horrendous pain that is not taken seriously by Gerald, when the patients guests asked for clarification of a time frame and if it was going to be a while to get something for the pain he just said in a bit and dismissed the idea of medication or a conversation with the doctor because he was already preparing for the procedure. It was then we went to seek someone else because of his clear discrimination, neglect, and attitude - ran into the doctor and he immediately helped, and was beyond accommodating along with the two other female nurses. They were calm, collected, and compassionate - what medicine should be when you take the oath. And I thank you them for that and being that in a moment of need but they also let Gerald back into the room during the procedure after the patient asked for him to not be back in due to his behavior. To Gerald…when a man referring to the two adults with him as his wives, that should be the end of the conversation. No it’s not legal to be married to two people but, we’re having a commitment ceremony in December. We’ve been together for two years. Two have been together for five. We live a normal life outside of that fact with a house, dogs, businesses - we are not ashamed of what we are, we don’t hide it, we know it’s not for everyone, we expect to be judged and people to have questions but not in the middle of a medical emergency. The look on your face and the repeat of the question itself is enough for me to know what you were getting at… no matter how you try to explain this to HR later. You’re not the first, surely won’t be the last - but, hopefully for you it will be a lesson and the last time you behave this way and let your biases lead your care. Take some notes about urgency and compassion from the three you were working with and while I don’t think you should be fired I do think you should find a new career if you’re going to be this sassy, unable to control your attitude, and biased in your bedside manner. This may just not be the job for you and it shouldn’t be at the patients expense.

I love his ER as it’s so fast. I went in 48 Hours after Ankle surgery when the pain meds made me very ill. At first they treated me like I was crazy. Eventually they gave me an IV of zofran and pain meds to get the nausea and pain under control. So ended well but didn’t treat me great when I first arrived. An older male nurse was the one who was rude. Everyone else was great

Amazing staff and facility. This is my go to whenever I am super sick or can’t hit urgent care. Everytime it’s a pleasure. Dr. Christian and Nurse Zech are so knowledgeable and genuine. Thank you gentlemen!
