Not the first time here over the years but we had the opportunity to stop in for dinner. Chopped pork sandwiches, ribs and chicken were all excellent! Perfect as always and highly recommended you stop in!

I want to start with the pros. The service was wonderful. The waitress was great and had a pleasant attitude. After reading the reviews we were so hyped about the food and to find some BBQ only to be sorely let down…. The sides were incredible, the okra was piping hot and every other side was just as good. The BBQ itself was a disappointment for us, the ribs were very dry and flavorless, the sausage tasted like they grabbed a hickory farms and charred it on the grill, the chopped pork was also just very dry and not very good. The “brisket” which they called sliced beef and the waitress said it’s totally different, we were willing to try, but again everything just seemed way overcooked. The white meat chicken was okay, had a decent smoke flavor, slightly moister than the rest of the meats. We came her due to the reviews and left with the note that we would not be coming back. Maybe this was a one off day, but it was not very good…

The best oak smoked pulled pork I've ever had. Their sauce is also very good, is both thinner and different than anything I've had before, and they make it themselves. Jimbo's began in Lakeland in 1964 and has been at the same location in Tampa since 1970...yet the owner Janelda is on-premise and very hands on. She doesn't sit on her high throne and lord over the staff like so many other successful restaurant owners do...and I appreciate that. Janelda is to the left in the picture, with Andrea, one of the servers. The large chopped pork sandwich I had is shown in the other picture, and it comes with a hush puppy and a small sample of their coleslaw.

This is one of the best and most unique bbq joints here in Tampa. The sliced pork and sliced beef are so tasty! The pulled chicken is juicy and tender. They hand bread butterflies shrimp and make their own tartar sauce. The hush puppies are great for sopping up the coleslaw juices Everything about Jimbos is top notch! Not like anyone looks at my reviews but I almost want to gate keep on Jimbos so it dosen't get ruined by people but then I'm like they got this!
