Review provided by Christine Bonsel I was recently a patient at St Joseph Hospital on MLK Blvd for several weeks. My stay was on T Tower level six. I have never had a more positive experience than this hospital stay. I was treated by the hospitalists every day and was made to feel that whatever I was experiencing, it mattered to them. I would like to thank these doctors for their excellent care and concern. Dr. Nayankumar Patel, Dr. Deepa Patel, Dr. Nicole Fontunet and Dr; Matthew Hughes. They were exceptional and a blessing to their profession. I would like to thank Dr. Prashant Sukharomwala for his excellent surgical skill. Dr. Alexis Blackburn and Dr. David Mason were very attentive to my concerns. RNs Shay, Ali, Samantha, Maritza, Tiffany, Kara and Daryl were excellent, hard working and caring people. I would also like to thank techs Claire and Ally. Claire is going to be an excellent RN in another year. I wish I could give a personal thank you to all the other workers. I couldn't get all their names. Rosa from EVS did an amazing job keeping my room clean. She is an extremely hard worker. She deserves a lot of credit. I received excellent care throughout my stay. When the work environment is good the employees are happy. I didn't come across anyone who didn't like their job. St. Joseph Hospital is an excellent facility and I was so blessed to have spent time there. I will forever be grateful. Christine Bonsel

I can’t thank the entire team at Saint Joseph’s Hospital enough for the outstanding care our 5-year-old daughter received. From the moment we arrived, we felt supported every step of the way. The facilities were spotless, the communication was constant, and every member of the staff took the time to explain everything clearly and answer all of our questions with kindness and patience. The nurses deserve special recognition. They made what could have been a very scary experience so much easier for our little girl. One moment that truly felt magical was when it was time to place her IV. While she was completely captivated watching Frozen, right during the iconic “Let It Go” song, the nurse gently used the cold numbing spray before inserting the IV. Our daughter was so fascinated by the “magic spray” that she barely noticed what was happening and completely forgot about the discomfort. It was such a thoughtful and compassionate way to help a scared little girl feel safe. Throughout the entire experience, everyone made her feel incredibly brave, before and even after surgery. Although recovery has been painful at times, she is healing very well, and we truly believe the procedure was performed with exceptional precision and care. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Getzx, Natalie, and the entire Saint Joseph’s Hospital team. Your compassion, professionalism, and genuine kindness made one of the hardest days for our family so much easier. We will always be grateful. ❤️

I would like to give special recognition to my neurosurgeon, Dr. John Gachiani, who performed my emergency surgery with exceptional skill and professionalism. The surgery was performed with remarkable skill, and I am deeply thankful for everything he did for me. Dr. Gachiani is not only an excellent surgeon, but also a doctor whose professionalism and dedication made a tremendous difference in my experience. I would also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to all the wonderful nurses, doctors, and hospital staff who cared for me before and after the surgery. Their kindness, compassion, patience, and constant attention made an extremely difficult experience much easier. I am truly grateful to everyone who took care of me, and especially to Dr. John Gachiani. I will never forget the care and expertise that helped me through such a difficult time.

The infusion experience went well. My technician (sorry, I can't remember his name) was very professional and shared information with me on what the procedure would be like. I barely felt the stick, so I was happy about that. He answered all of my questions. I loved the warm blanket at the beginning of the session. He also asked me if I wanted anything to eat or drink. I asked for some pudding, which I received. An altogether positive experience.

Dear Patient Relations Team, I am writing to share feedback regarding my visit to the emergency department yesterday following a work-related injury to my left foot. I would like to commend the registration staff and the X-ray technician for their professionalism and care. The registration process was seamless, and the staff was very polite. Similarly, the X-ray technician was dedicated and showed great empathy toward my situation. The physician who evaluated my foot was also professional and provided clear instructions for my recovery. However, I am very disappointed with the conduct of the ER staff member who assisted me at the end of my visit. When I asked for clarification regarding my prescription dosage and frequency, I did not receive an accurate answer. Additionally, the medical note provided contained an error in my last name. When I requested a correction, the staff member's attitude was unacceptable. Furthermore, despite my explained inability to walk due to severe pain, he initially expected me to leave the hospital on foot. I had to insist on the assistance of a wheelchair to reach the exit, which he eventually provided only after some hesitation. I believe this lack of professionalism and disregard for patient mobility needs to be addressed. I hope this feedback helps improve the quality of care for future patients.
