The Chicken Shawarma Sandwich is dressed with garlic sauce and pickles and follows the same size options.

If you’re anywhere near Tampa and craving authentic Arabic food, you HAVE to try Shawarma El Shami! 🤍 The shawarma was hands down some of the best we’ve ever had, the hummus was unbelievably creamy and fresh, and the kibbeh was absolutely delicious. Every bite tasted homemade and full of flavor. What made the experience even more special was the incredible hospitality. Wafa was an absolute sweetheart and made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. You can truly tell how much love and care goes into both the food and the customer experience. This is one of those hidden gems you’ll be thinking about long after you leave. We can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend! 🥙✨

The customer service here is a joke. We waited 30 minutes for two shawarma sandwiches, which is already ridiculous. We asked if pickles came with the shawarmas to which the guy at the counter said yes but only if we were eating there. Doesn’t make sense if I’m literally paying the same amount to dine in and also to go if the dish comes with the vegetables. I asked if they could made the order to go with the vegetables and because of that they refused to put the food in a proper container just to accommodate some vegetables?? Instead, they placed the food on a plate covered with plastic wrap even when I told them I had a 40 min drive ahead of me. They clearly had to go boxes, just out right refused to pack the food in them or give them to us to pack up our food. Even customers that were DINING IN had their food in takeaway boxes. The guy helping us was rude and lacked professionalism. He wouldn’t even hand me a to-go container to move the food myself. On top of that, the sauce was already dumped all over the food and pickles before I even walked out, so by the time I got home it was a soggy mess. Food was very mid and I will tell everyone to avoid this spot in the future.

I’ve been coming to Shawarma Elshami for years, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. We got takeout, and unfortunately the customer service was below average. Not only was the service disappointing, but there wasn’t even one napkin included in our to-go bag. The chicken shawarma was zinikh, and the overall quality of the food was not what I’ve come to expect. The koobeh was also below average. This was honestly my first bad experience here, but it was enough to solidify that I won’t be returning. I hope the team takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the quality, service, and consistency because this place used to be one I enjoyed coming to. Please do better.

This is hands down the best beef shawarma I’ve had in the Tampa area. I normally order chicken everywhere I go (not just here) because it’s always my go to, but this time we decided to try both the beef and the chicken, and the beef truly did not disappoint. It was incredibly tender, not hard to chew and cooked to perfection. Of course, the chicken was just as delicious as expected. I highly recommend trying both! Don’t forget to ask for the pomegranate molasses and, of course, the garlic sauce, they take the shawarma to the next level.

Loved their beef shawerma. Chicken was OK. Garlic sauce, toomieh, needs to be worked on but in general, great sandwiches. I also tried the beef shawarma hummus, it was great as well. We drive all the way from Orlando to eat there. Out of all shawerma places that I visited in Tampa, Elshami wins for sure.
