Checking hours

Casa Santo Stefano is a restaurant at 1607 N 22nd St in Ybor City, Tampa. The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., so you can plan a lunch, an early dinner or a later meal

The menu draws on Sicilian home cooking. The lunch and dinner menus feature maccheroni (pasta), steaks, seafood, scacciata, salads, soups, desserts and hundreds of Sicilian wines. The website explains that much of what is served, from the wines to the cheese, olive oil and salt, is imported from family businesses in Sicily.

What to Expect at Casa Santo Stefano

The building was once a 1925 Ybor City macaroni factory, and the restaurant pays tribute to the Sicilian food owner Richard Gonzmart ate with his best friend Vincent Palori. The pastas, sauces and seafood are inspired by those Sunday meals, which the restaurant describes as Tampa Sicilian.

The interior is a showplace of art and craftsmanship. Hand-painted, colorful backsplashes, tabletops and countertops were ordered from a family in Caltagirone, Sicily. Vintage photographs on the walls represent many of the founding Sicilian families in Tampa, shared by their descendants.

The antipasti menu includes Meatballs della Nana, Salsiccia alla Griglia, Arancini al Burro, Calamari Fritti and Mussels J. Matassini. Antipasti generally range to. The pizzas are 12-inch, thin-crust, Sicilian-style pies cooked in a brick oven, including a Margherita and a Sicilian Hot Honey pizza.

The website asks that baseball caps be removed and men wear sleeves in the dining room. Guests often visit for celebrations and special occasions, so some dress more formally.

All around awesome experience! The ambience walking in pulls you right into an authentic Italian experience. The music, decor and pizza oven set the stage. Once seated, the service was friendly, helpful and efficient. We started with a wonderful assortment of cocktails. I’d recommend the limoncello spritz. Refreshing and delicious. Started off with complementary focaccia, drizzled with olive oil. Followed with an appetizer of fried risotto and cheese. We shared a hot honey pizza, made in the wood fired pizza oven. Finally, enjoyed the house made tiramisu and cappuccino. An excellent dining experience from start to finish.

Had dinner for the first time at an Italian restaurant in historic downtown Ybor City and had a really great experience overall. The restaurant itself was beautifully designed — the decor felt both elegant and welcoming, with a warm, homey atmosphere that made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and the menu had a great variety of options to choose from. Most importantly, the food was delicious. The only downside for me was that the red sauce dishes were a little on the salty side. The meatball appetizer and the lasagna I ordered both had great flavor, but the sauce was a bit too salty for my taste. That said, everything else about the experience was outstanding, and I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu. A wonderful addition to Ybor City’s dining scene.

Vincent is an absolute gem. He brings a warm, genuine energy to every visit, funny, approachable, and never the least bit overbearing. What really sets him apart is his impressive knowledge of Casa Santo Stefano’s history, which made the experience feel that much more special. He was incredibly polite throughout the whole meal and clearly cares about making sure his guests have the best experience possible. I can’t recommend him enough. Do yourself a favor and come in to enjoy his hospitality alongside everything Casa Santo Stefano has to offer.

As a local business owner, I appreciate establishments that operate with excellence and consistency. Casa Santo Stefano delivers on quality, service, and overall experience. The staff is professional and attentive, the presentation is top tier, and the environment is ideal for client dinners, networking events, or team gatherings. It’s a great representation of Tampa hospitality and a place I confidently recommend for both personal and professional occasions.

4.8* (out of 5) Food: 5* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 4* Service: 5* Would I go back / Recommend?: 5* (Definitely) Total check/person: $40 01/30/2026 We stopped in here for a quick drink at the bar with friends while waiting for our table at Columbia on a previous trip and immediately wanted to come back to try it for dinner. We were able to do it tonight and share the experience with our son who lives in the area. Wow - this definitely rises to the top tier of restaurants in the area that we would love to go back to on a future trip! Absolutely everything that we ordered was top-notch quality and delicious! We started by sharing the Arancini al Burro (see picture) along with the Toasted Gnocchi (see picture). Both looked great on the plate and were even better once dipped heavily in the sauce and tasted! For our main courses, my wife ordered the Casarecce "Rinaldi" (see picture) and my son and I shared the Veal Scaloppine Milanesa (see picture) with 3 added Large Meatballs (see picture). Richard, our server, recommended the additional meatballs and it was a great call. As we always do, we shared tastes of all of the dishes and all of us raved about all of them If you found this review helpful, please Share, Follow & Like.
