Checking hours

Front Porch & Bart's Tavern is a restaurant in Seminole Heights, Tampa, where you can eat on the porch or inside a building that dates to 1898. The business was established in 2002 by Cristi and Patrick Purpura and is a family-owned, locally run spot in the neighborhood. It's a good fit if you want a relaxed place to eat, drink and spend an evening with friends.

The restaurant serves fresh, made-from-scratch dishes and craft cocktails. Dining is available both upstairs in the Victorian house and outside on the porch, so you can choose the setting that suits your group. If you're planning a visit to this restaurant in Seminole Heights, check the hours below before you head out.

What to Expect at Front Porch & Bart's Tavern in Tampa

The building is an 1898 Victorian house, and the inside dining room and outdoor porch give the restaurant a distinct character. The team describes its goal as being your favorite locally-owned watering hole, a place where friends can gather to celebrate great food, great libations and great times.

Downstairs, Bart's Tavern features live music every weekend. The website lists live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so weekend evenings are the time to expect music in the tavern.

The kitchen uses recipes made fresh from scratch with ingredients the team selects carefully. Craft cocktails are part of the menu alongside the food, which makes the restaurant suitable for a casual dinner or a drink with friends.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the porch and downstairs at Bart's Tavern, which is a useful detail if you're bringing a pet to this Seminole Heights restaurant.

Great variety of food, drinks, and attentive staff - Dog friendly and accommodating. Had the Swiss burger and found that the patty tasted in a way I’ve never tried before and enjoyed it (and extra rare which I asked for ), can’t really tell but definitely added seasoning or sauce during cooking. Food on the table was all well cooked fish and chips tasted great.

I had breakfast here Saturday morning, not sure how it is for an evening dinner or atmosphere. They have a patio and then another adjacent outdoor area that's covered from the Sun. Service was good although I think they could use one more server during the rush, but they worked well together as a team. The quality of the food was really good. I enjoy the biscuit in the homemade gravy. Salmo omelette was definitely large and tasty, the potatoes were great, and the banana bread was good. It did take quite a while for the food, and I was there before the rush, so maybe they were short-handed. I wasnt in a rush and it was a nice atmosphere to relax. When I come back and the food would take that long, I probably wont be back a 3rd time. I will for sure try their dinner.

Nice outdoor seating and atmosphere for a pleasant spring evening. Many people brought their dogs with them, so a great place for dog owners to grab dinner. Great happy hour deals on wine. Attentive waitstaff and tasty food.

If you order the baked chèvre, be prepared to receive heated up publix freezer garlic bread with a bowl of heated up basic marinara sauce with a couple of drops of goat cheese that you have to mix up in the marina sauce to make all of the dip have at least some cheese in it when you dip your bread. It tasted fine but there is extremely minimal “baked cheese” in this dish. My partner ordered the fish and chips and said it also tased decent. Rated it a 3 out of 5 stars. Nice atmosphere though.

The menu is very diverse and reasonably priced. The Chicken Chevre was decent, the zucchini was oily, and the rice was rice. The mussels appetizer was good, but two pieces of bread would have improved it. The service on a busy night was excellent. The band was exceptional and elevated the whole experience. The place needs a good cleaning and touch up. The handrails up the steps are beyond filthy.
