The name is The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk. That long phrase is the hotel’s own name, not a booking-site nickname. Address: 111 West Fortune Street, Tampa, Florida 33602. Phone (813) 223-1351. It calls itself a downtown waterfront hotel.
I wanted the hotel’s own word on rooms, amenities, dining, parking, and the shuttle—not a booking-site summary. Fortune Street puts you on the river side of downtown, close enough that Riverwalk walks and arena nights feel walkable, and far enough from TPA that the free shuttle will not save an airport fare. Book With These Facts First
- Check-in 3:00 p.m., check-out 11:00 a.m. Early/late options depend on occupancy.
- Shuttle is 2 miles, 8:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Not an airport van.
- Self-parking $20 per night in the gated lot.
- Pets: $75 flat for the stay, not per night.
Location Along the Riverwalk
The hotel says it is near the Tampa Convention Center, Amalie Arena, Armature Works, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, and the Tampa River Center, and “moments” from Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. It also says Raymond James Stadium is 4.9 miles away. Moments and a two-mile shuttle radius are not the same measurement—I noticed that when I lined the claims up against a real downtown stay.
The outdoor pool deck overlooks the Hillsborough River. The pool is open sunrise to sunset daily with no lifeguard on duty. Do not send a kid there assuming a guard is watching. Sunrise to sunset is a moving clock, not a fixed open/close time.
ZIP 33602 is the code this hotel uses—and the City of Tampa uses for city hall at 306 East Jackson Street. It is not “the” Tampa ZIP. See my Tampa ZIP guide if you are filling a form.
For neighborhood food and walks, pair a Barrymore stay with Armature Works upriver and my things to do in Tampa list. Convention weeks overlap with the Tampa Convention Center calendar when that guide is live; the hotel itself names the center as a nearby landmark.
Shuttle, Airport, and Getting Around
Complimentary shuttle: inside a 2-mile radius, first come first served, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. It does not go to Tampa International Airport. The hotel says airport and other trips can be arranged with Blue One Transportation at (813) 282-7351, and that the hotel is not affiliated with Blue One. Uber and Lyft are the other option.
If you land at TPA expecting a free hotel airport ride, this property will disappoint you on purpose. Two miles covers a chunk of downtown. It does not cover the airport, and it does not cover Busch Gardens. Use my TPA arrival guide for the curb, then rideshare or Blue One.
On-site Zipcar station, lobby ATM (fees apply), guest laundry plus dry-cleaning pickup, and free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout.
Parking and Pets
Self-parking is on site in a gated lot at $20 per night per vehicle—stated more than once on the hotel site. Buses and RVs have space; call the front desk before arrival. Confirm current parking on Barrymore amenities.
Pet-friendly: $75 pet fee no matter the length of stay. “Doggie Business Center” at the back of the property. Pet gifts at check-in, one per guest room. They partner with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Dog walks: across the Fortune Taylor Bridge to Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park (the hotel sometimes spells it Julien) and Curtis Hixon, which they call about a 15-minute walk. Water Works Park is also nearby for a splash-pad afternoon with kids.
Rooms and Cancellation
Three room types: one king; two queens; accessible room with one queen and an ADA roll-in shower. Overlapping amenities: complimentary Wi-Fi, linens, European bath amenities, mini-fridge, microwave, 42-inch flat-screen, single-cup coffee maker, alarm clock. King and two-queen rooms also mention an activity table.
When I checked, each of the three types was quoted at $132.00. Treat that as a moment-in-time quote, not a locked rate—hotel prices move. Recheck when you book. Cancellation: cancel at no charge until 4:00 p.m. the day before arrival; after that the fee is the first night’s room and tax. Non-refundable promotional rooms are excepted.
24-hour fitness center: treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, stationary bikes, leg machines, Precor FTS Glide. Barry’s Market is the lobby grab-and-go.
Ship & Shore cruise package (when offered): exclusive room rate, parking up to 10 days during the cruise, shuttle to/from Port Tampa Bay—present boarding passes at check-in. Details on the hotel’s offers pages.
Gaudin Kitchen & Bar Hours
Gaudin Kitchen & Bar is the on-site restaurant, connected to the lobby—cocktail-forward, New American. Hours from the hotel’s FAQ answers (the marketing blurb alone does not list them):
- Breakfast: 7:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. daily
- Lunch: Thursday–Sunday 11:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Dinner: 4:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. daily
- Late-night menu: Wednesday–Saturday 10:00 p.m.–midnight
- Bar: 4:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m.
Monday at noon looking for lunch is the trap—I thought that split was the real difficulty, not the menu adjectives. Confirm on Barrymore FAQs before you plan around Gaudin.
Compared with The Westin Tampa Waterside or The Tampa EDITION, the Barrymore’s pitch is Riverwalk practical: gated lot price you can plan around, pet fee that does not shrink on a one-night stay, and a shuttle that is downtown-sized.
Meetings and Events
Over 4,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, ballroom, outdoor pool deck space, linens, lighting, A/V, podium, projector, screen, flip charts, plated or buffet catering. Setups named: theater, classroom, U-shaped, and more. Guest room blocks available. Weddings, receptions, and engagement parties are marketed. Ask planning staff for counts and rental prices—those were not posted as a simple public chart when I looked.
What I Would Plan Around
The shuttle radius is the trap I noticed first: two miles covers a chunk of downtown; it does not cover TPA, and it does not match the hotel’s “moments” wording for Busch Gardens. Self-parking at $20 a night and the flat $75 pet fee are the numbers the hotel actually states. Gaudin’s split hours are the other lesson—breakfast daily is real; lunch only Thursday–Sunday is easy to miss. If I showed up Monday at noon looking for lunch, the restaurant blurb would not have warned me; the hotel FAQ would. Recheck the room rate the day you book, and confirm Gaudin hours before you build a meal plan around it.

Final Thoughts
The Barrymore is a downtown Riverwalk hotel with a clear parking number, a real pet fee, and a shuttle that stops being free the moment you aim it at the airport. Recheck the room rate the day you book, and do not plan Monday lunch at Gaudin without reading the FAQ hours.
For a Westshore base instead, see the Westshore Marriott. For waterfront dining a short ride west, Rusty Pelican on Rocky Point is the airport-adjacent seafood room—not a hotel restaurant inside TPA.
