People ask about tampa events in a dozen ways: events in tampa, events tampa, tampa fl events, tampa florida events. It is one question with the city name moved around, and the honest answer is that there is no single calendar. This page is a directory. It sorts what happens in and around Tampa into clusters, tells you which building each one lives in, and sends you to the guide that goes deeper.

Why there is no single Tampa events calendar

I was in Tampa in early October 2026 trying to work out what was on, and the first thing I learned is that there are at least three calendars, and they do not agree about what counts as an event.

Visit Tampa Bay is the group most people assume will have the answer. At the top level, though, it offers a short pitch: live entertainment, festivals, food and culture from downtown to Ybor, a full calendar promised, and a way to submit your own event. No dates, no venues, no lineup. The official tourism voice answered with a mood.

The useful lineup came from Visit Tampa Bay's fall roundup of October events in Tampa Bay. It reaches well beyond Tampa. Its first sports block includes Rays playoff games at Tropicana Field, which is in St. Petersburg, not Tampa. Because the roundup covers the whole bay, that building gets counted as a Tampa event anyway.

The City of Tampa's neighborhood calendar is a different animal. Its day-by-day view mixes festivals with public hearings. On one stretch in October, a Saturday had a watercolor workshop, a sewing workshop and a school fair, while the following Monday jumped to a daytime choir and an architectural review hearing at 5:30 p.m. The city is clearly busy, but the calendar is a poor answer to "what is happening tonight" if you do not notice you have wandered into a hearing.

The convention center's public calendar is a fourth list, mostly trade shows, and it is not the city's weekend. None of these gave me one column labeled "what is on today," so this hub points you to the right source for each kind of event and keeps the specifics with the guides.

The big three venues: stadium, arena, ballpark

Before any ticket talk, sort out which building is which. Tampa's sports map has a trap in it: the Rays play across the bay, and the arena has had a name change. The short version is below, and the Tampa Stadium Guide covering Ray Jay, the arena and the Trop lays out all three side by side.

  • Raymond James Stadium is at 4201 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33607. It hosts the Buccaneers, USF football and bowl games. Check the official stadium site for event details.
  • Benchmark International Arena is at 401 Channelside Drive, downtown. It is the Lightning's home and was formerly Amalie Arena. Concerts and other events share the calendar. Check the arena's official site.
  • Tropicana Field is at 1 Tropicana Dr, St. Petersburg. It is the Rays' home and it is not in Tampa city.

Buccaneers

For football, the Tampa Buccaneers guide covers tickets, parking and bag rules at Raymond James. In the October 2026 fall roundup I worked from, the Bucs hosted the Green Bay Packers on October 4 and Pittsburgh on October 18, both at Raymond James. Most of the games in that roundup came without start times, so confirm kickoff with the team before you plan a day around it.

Lightning

Hockey gets two guides because the questions are different. The Tampa Bay Lightning overview covers the arena and the 2026–27 season. If your question is simply how to get in the door, the separate Tampa Lightning tickets guide walks through official sellers, the box office and rush options.

The October roundup listed a run of home games at Benchmark: the Capitals on October 3, the Flyers on October 5, then Minnesota on October 8, Seattle on October 15, Vancouver on October 17 and Winnipeg on October 29. Treat that as a snapshot of October, not the season schedule.

Rays

Baseball is where the geography matters most, and the Rays' 2026 season home is Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Three guides split the job. The Tampa Bay Rays guide covers the team and its Tropicana Field home. The Tropicana Field ballpark guide covers the building itself. And the Tampa Rays schedule guide explains how to read home, away and today when you pull up a schedule.

The part that trips people up: the October roundup counted Rays playoff games on October 3 and 5 at Tropicana Field as Tampa Bay events, with times still TBD. They are bay-area events, not in Tampa city limits, and I did not find a Rays home date inside the city.

Minor-league and other pro teams

If you want baseball without the drive across the bay, the Tampa Tarpons guide covers the Yankees Single-A team at Steinbrenner Field. The October roundup also listed Tampa Bay Sun FC hosting Lexington SC on October 4 at Suncoast Credit Union Field.

Concerts and live shows

The concert slate I put together for October 2026 was not every club show in town, but it shows how the venues split the work.

At Benchmark International Arena: Phil Wickham on October 10, Jonas Brothers on October 11 and Weezer on October 14.

At the Yuengling Center: Dermot Kennedy on October 8 and Steve Lacy on October 28.

At the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre: Logic and G-Eazy on October 8.

At Tampa Theatre: Bassem Youssef on October 16. The 1926 movie palace also has its own Tampa Theatre guide, and the city calendar listed a Tampa Theatre 100th celebration on October 15, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at 711 N. Franklin. The fall roundup separately described a centennial event with a $26 ticket and no date. I would not assume the two are the same event, so check with the theatre before you buy.

At the Straz Center: Hamilton ran October 21 through November 8, and Rocky Horror with Patricia Quinn was October 22. For theater nights, the performing arts campus is covered in the TBPAC guide.

Outdoors downtown: The 15th annual Tampa Pig Jig was October 17 at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, with Thomas Rhett, Midland, Kameron Marlowe, Sister Hazel and Cassidy Daniels named for it. The city calendar timed it at 1 to 10 p.m.

Festivals, markets and fall events

The festival side of the roundup is where dates get slippery, so I kept only the items that named a day.

  • Oktoberfest Tampa: October 9 through 11 at Curtis Hixon along the Hillsborough River, billed as the 17th year. The city calendar timed October 11 at 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Heights District Fall Fest: October 10 and 11 at Armature Works, ninth year, with a pumpkin patch and a canned-good raffle for Metropolitan Ministries.
  • Behind the Bottle: October 9 at Epperson Lagoon, 21 and up.
  • Wines of Spain: October 16 at Centro Asturiano de Tampa, with more than 50 Spanish wines.
  • Art Fair Tampa: the convention center's own public calendar puts it October 16 through 18. The fall roundup described the event without a date, so I went with the building's dates for the building.
  • Rock the Park: a free monthly music series on the first Thursday at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, credited to a 15-year collaboration between the Tampa Downtown Partnership and Brokenmold.
  • Sunset Market: first Thursday at Midtown Tampa, with live music and more than 40 vendors. It is not a daily downtown market.
  • Art and Aces: October 2 at the Tampa Museum of Art, 7:30 to 11 p.m. per the city calendar, a fourth-anniversary party.
  • Riverwalk Trick-or-Treat: October 24 at Cotanchobee Park, 4 to 8:30 p.m., free, in its tenth year.
  • Sensory Saturday: October 3 at the Museum of Science and Industry with the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at USF, 8 to 10 a.m. per the city calendar.

Some items never came with a date, so I left them off the calendar: National Taco Day at the Unlock Tampa Bay visitors center, Spirit of Japan, the BarrieHaus Oktoberfest, a TNA wrestling night, a coffee festival and a black history book club. Undated stays undated. If one of those matters to you, check the organizer directly.

Two entries in the roundup sit outside Tampa: Hispanic Heritage Month at the Dalí, running September 15 through October 15, and Harvest Days at Keel Farms every Saturday and Sunday in October. The Dalí is not a Tampa address, and no street address came with Keel Farms, so confirm location and hours before you drive.

What "this weekend" actually means

I put this section together on Sunday, October 4, 2026, and that date matters more than the wording. "This weekend" is not a place. On a Sunday morning it can mean the weekend you are standing in. On a Sunday night it usually means the next one. By Monday morning, whatever a list says is last weekend. None of the calendars I went through said when they were last updated, so the only dates I trust are the ones attached to an event.

Searches like tampa events this weekend or free events in tampa this weekend run into the same problem. When I looked for the word "free" on everything dated October 2, 3 and 4, the only free items I could find were Rock the Park and Sunset Market, and both were on October 1. If the organizer did not say free, I did not call it free. For soft weekend planning, the site has weekend guides under things-to-do, including things to do in Tampa this weekend. For a live, current answer, go to the venue or team site.

Big public events: the fairgrounds and the convention center

Some of the largest public events are not at a stadium. The Florida State Fairgrounds are at 4800 US Highway 301 North, Tampa, FL 33610, and the fairgrounds site is the place to check what is on. The fairgrounds host the RV shows: the Florida RV SuperShow in January and the Tampa Bay Fall RV Show in November, per the Florida RV Trade Association's show page. Dates and details live in the Tampa RV Show guide.

The Tampa Convention Center is at 333 S Franklin and runs its own public calendar at tampaconventioncenter.com. Much of what it hosts is closed trade shows, but some, like Art Fair Tampa, are open to the public. I am not listing ticket desks or prices, so use that calendar for anything you plan to attend.

Family and activity venues

Not every event is a ticketed date on a calendar. These are the places to go when you want something to do rather than something to watch.

How to plan around Tampa events

A few habits that follow from everything above.

1. Confirm the building first. A Rays game is in St. Petersburg, a Lightning game is downtown at Channelside, and a Bucs game is on Dale Mabry. The stadium guide exists because people mix these up. 2. Trust the date attached to the event, not the list. Calendars here do not announce when they were last refreshed. 3. Check start times with the venue. Most of the sports dates I was handed came without times, and I did not fill them in from what a normal start usually is. 4. Look at who is running the calendar. The tourism bureau sells the mood, the city lists neighborhood programming and hearings, the convention center lists trade shows, and teams and venues list their own games and shows. 5. Use directories for browsing. The site's events index and directory are the quickest way to move between guides.

FAQ

Is there one official calendar of Tampa events? No. When I went looking in October 2026, I found a tourism bureau pitch with no dates, a monthly roundup that covers the whole bay, a city calendar that mixes festivals with hearings, and a convention center calendar. Use the one that matches the kind of event you want.

Are Rays games in Tampa? The Rays' 2026 season home is Tropicana Field at 1 Tropicana Dr in St. Petersburg. Regional roundups often list those games as Tampa Bay events, but the ballpark is not in Tampa city. See the Tropicana Field guide.

Where do the Lightning play? At Benchmark International Arena, 401 Channelside Drive, formerly Amalie Arena. The Lightning tickets guide covers official sellers, the box office and rush.

What are the biggest annual Tampa events in the fall? From the 2026 roundup: Oktoberfest Tampa (October 9–11), the Tampa Pig Jig (October 17), the Heights District Fall Fest (October 10–11), Art Fair Tampa (October 16–18) and the Fall RV Show in November. Check each organizer for current dates.

Where can I find free Tampa events? Rock the Park and the Riverwalk Trick-or-Treat were described as free in what I read. If a listing does not say free, assume it is not until the organizer confirms.
