I went after Tampa Lightning tickets on purpose, and not to write a team biography. I wanted three things: the actual window, the official seller, and the ways a resale outfit pretends to be the window. Most of the trouble with Tampa Lightning tickets comes from the last one.

This guide covers who sells Lightning tickets, how the box office works, what the phone numbers are, how student rush works, and why I would double-check any game time before leaving the hotel. For the team itself, see our Tampa Bay Lightning page.

Quick answers: how to buy Tampa Lightning tickets

  • Who sells them: Ticketmaster, or the ReliaQuest Ticket Office at the arena. The ticket office says the arena and the Lightning themselves are the only official sellers. Everything else is an outsider.
  • Format: All tickets are mobile only. The Lightning say delivery includes mobile entry in the Ticketmaster app.
  • Where: Benchmark International Arena, 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa, FL 33602.
  • Refunds: None, and no exchanges, on tickets for a game, concert, or event at the arena. If a show is canceled or rescheduled, you go back to the original point of purchase.
  • Prices: I am not quoting any. Neither the team nor the arena gave a seat price in what I read, so check the official Lightning tickets page.

The name: Tampa Lightning, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Amalie

People search for "Tampa Lightning" or "Lightning Tampa," but the club calls itself the Tampa Bay Lightning. Same team, and it is the NHL club you are after.

The building is Benchmark International Arena. Vinik Sports Group and Benchmark International announced a multi-year naming deal on August 13, 2025, and beginning that day AMALIE Arena officially became Benchmark International Arena. It is the same downtown building. The announcement describes it as debuting in 1996, with 19,092 seats, publicly owned, with Vinik Sports Group holding the lease. It sits in the Water Street neighborhood, on the Channelside side of downtown, not the fairgrounds and not a suburban rink.

The old name still causes problems. The ReliaQuest ticket office still lists an Amalie Arena contact address for questions, even while it calls the building Benchmark International Arena. That is one reason old emails and old links still say Amalie. Seeing the old name on an official contact is fine. A website that still calls itself Amalie and asks for a card is another story, and I would not trust it. For the full building rundown, our stadium guide covers Tampa's venues side by side.

Official sellers vs. everything else

This is where I think people get hurt. Tickets for games, concerts, and events are sold through Ticketmaster or at the ReliaQuest Ticket Office. The ticket office says it knows about imposter sellers built to look affiliated with the arena or the Lightning, and that anyone other than the arena and the Lightning themselves is not them.

I never found a named official resale marketplace for the Lightning. The Rays point fans to a resale partner. I found nothing like that for the Lightning, and I am not going to nominate one. My rule is simple: if the seat is not in the team account or in Ticketmaster through the team, I would assume I am the product.

Why this matters more than usual: the no-refund, no-exchange policy. If you bought from a lookalike and the game is rescheduled, "go back to the original point of purchase" is not much comfort when the original point of purchase is a stranger. I am also not going to print a resale fee table, because I never saw one from an official source.

Mobile tickets only

All tickets are mobile. Put yours in the Ticketmaster app and do not rely on a screenshot. I would not plan on a paper ticket at the window, and I would not call the main arena line expecting a will-call miracle when the team says the ticket lives on your phone. Confirm current entry policy on the Lightning tickets page.

Who to call

The team and arena publish a full phone list, and I am writing it down because otherwise I would call the wrong desk:

| Need | Number | |---|---| | Ticketmaster, individual game tickets | 1-800-745-3000 | | ReliaQuest Ticket Office | 813-301-2500 | | Benchmark International Arena | 813-301-6500 | | Season-ticket member services | 813-301-6800 | | Group sales and party areas | 813-301-6900 | | Premium suites | 813-301-2505 | | Accessible seating | 813-301-6700 |

Lost and found is handled by the arena itself. I never saw a list of what they were holding, so call the arena line if you left something behind.

The box office window: hours and location

Both the arena and the Lightning put the ReliaQuest Ticket Office on the west side of the venue. It is open on event days only.

  • Lightning games: both sources say it opens three hours before puck drop and runs until the end of the second period.
  • Concerts and other shows: it opens three hours before the ticketed show time. As far as I was told, there is no stated closing point.
  • Holidays: the Lightning say it is closed on major holidays unless an event is happening, and that holiday hours can change, so call 813-301-2500.

I found no regular weekday window for a random Tuesday with no event. If I showed up midweek to buy at the door, by their own description I would find it shut. Plan around event days. For what else is happening around town on those nights, see our Tampa events guide.

Payment at the window

This is the one direct disagreement between sources. The arena says the office accepts VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. The ReliaQuest ticket office says VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Same office, two lists. I would bring a card that appears on both lists and not be the person who finds out which version is current. I also saw no service fee and no ticket price from either source, so I am not putting numbers here.

The 2026-27 season in plain terms

The team announced the 2026-27 regular-season schedule, presented by AdventHealth, on July 16, 2026. The headline is the length: the Bolts play 84 games, not the old 82, split 42 home and 42 road. The breakdown:

  • Each Atlantic Division opponent four times (two home, two road): 28 divisional games
  • Each Metropolitan Division team three times: 24 games
  • Western Conference teams twice: 32 games

That adds up to 84. The schedule opened on the road with one game in New York against the Rangers on October 1. The home opener was Saturday, October 3, against the Washington Capitals at Benchmark International Arena, the first game of a three-game homestand.

Other notes straight from the announcement:

  • Two six-game homestands: November 14 to 27, and February 12 to 23.
  • November has eight home games, the most of any month. December and February have seven each.
  • Florida, the cross-state rival, does not come to Tampa until 2027 on this schedule, with home dates of February 16 and March 23.
  • Carolina, called the Stanley Cup champion in the announcement, makes its only visit on November 25.
  • Montreal comes December 31 and April 8, which the team calls a rematch of the 2026 first-round series.

I am not reproducing the whole calendar here. For the full list of dates and times, use the official Lightning schedule.

Check the time on the ticket itself

Here is a catch I would not skip. The team's single-game ticket schedule runs month by month, with each home game listed with a time and a way to buy. The ticket packs for 2026-27 were also on sale when I checked, and some times disagree:

  • Single-game schedule: Capitals, Tuesday, November 17, 7 p.m. ET. Packs: Washington, Tuesday, November 17, 7:30 p.m. ET.
  • Single-game schedule: Flyers, Thursday, March 25, 7 p.m. ET. Packs: Philadelphia, Thursday, March 25, 6:30 p.m. ET.

Same opponents, different clocks, both straight from the Lightning. Some dates match: October 5 versus Philadelphia at 7 p.m. and October 8 versus Minnesota at 7 p.m. line up between the two. I am not picking a winner on the mismatched ones. Look at the ticket itself before you decide when to leave the hotel.

One more date caution: October 4 is not a Lightning home game on the single-game schedule. The first October home date listed there is Monday, October 5, against the Flyers at 7 p.m. ET, then the Wild on Thursday, October 8, at 7 p.m. ET. Anyone hunting "tickets today" on a non-game date will not find a game.

Single-game tickets went on sale to the public on Friday, August 14, at 10 a.m., with presales earlier that week. That on-sale is behind us now, so what you are buying this season is whatever the team and Ticketmaster still have.

Discounts: student rush and other offers

Student rush is the one discount path the team actually describes, and it comes with no stated price.

  • College students: you need a valid .edu address. Tickets are standing room only unless the offer says otherwise, drop at 10:00 a.m. on game days, and are non-transferable.
  • High school students without a .edu address: go to the ReliaQuest Ticket Office on game day, starting three hours before puck drop, with a student ID, while supplies last. That is the same three-hour mark as the regular window, but it ends when the tickets are gone, not necessarily when the second period ends.

The team also offers GovX deals, theme nights, season-ticket interest forms, and group tickets. The group offer came with no minimum and no price, and I am leaving those blanks blank. Theme nights for 2026-27 are posted as a set, from opening night through fan appreciation, and giveaways are limited items at select home games. Those lists change, so the team is the place to check.

Inside the building: payments and bags

The arena says its own retail and concession stands are cashless, with mobile ordering at select stands. It also says concert merchandise sales may not be cashless, so a hockey night and a concert are not the same wallet.

I never got a bag policy for this arena. I am leaving out any clear-bag size, since I have no policy in hand, and the football stadium and the baseball dome are different buildings with their own rules. Check the arena's site before you pack: Benchmark International Arena.

The arena's rebrand also renamed a premium level the Benchmark International Club Level, with The Mark described as its signature all-inclusive experience. I never saw a price for The Mark. Premium suites and group areas go through the phone numbers above.

Don't mix up Tampa's other ticket offices

Asking about Tampa tickets kept turning up other buildings, so here is the separation:

  • Rays: the 2026 team plays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, not at this arena.
  • Bucs and USF: Raymond James Stadium on Dale Mabry has its own ticket office in the south plaza, and the sports authority that runs it says it is the landlord there.
  • Seminole Hard Rock: a name that comes up in the wider Tampa mix as a hotel and casino. It is not the Lightning box office.
  • Concerts: the arena sells concert tickets at the same west-side office, on the concert clock described above. A concert, a Lightning game, and a movie are three different buys.

Do not drive to Channelside just because a search for Tampa tickets also surfaced the Bucs, the Rays, a casino, and a movie.

Planning the trip

If you are coming in from out of town for a game, the arena is downtown on Channelside Drive, so a downtown stay keeps the night simple. Our Tampa hotels guide covers where to stay. I spent six months in Tampa (November 2025 to May 2026), staying downtown with my aunt and cousins, and that stretch is why I chased the ticketing details instead of the box scores. I did not find parking prices in anything I read, so I am leaving parking costs out.

My short checklist

1. Buy from the team or from the ReliaQuest office on the west side, on a night there is an event. 2. Use a card that both payment lists agree on: VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. 3. Put the ticket in the Ticketmaster app, not a screenshot. 4. Ignore any seller that looks official and is not the arena or the team. 5. Trust the time printed on your ticket over a pack listing when they differ. 6. Do not pay a price you never saw written down by the team or Ticketmaster.
